And from Turkey, here comes a strong name in terms of Metal, FORGOTTEN, captained by Tolga Otabatmaz (who plays the guitars and bass on the disc, and is the only permanent member) that follows the paths of a strong and vigorous Epic Metal, resorting to well-defined melodies, good technique and catchy songs in '13 Martyrs', FORGOTTEN's new job and first Full Length, since the band is veteran (founded in 1995), but due to financial barriers and lack of great support, was hidden in the basements of the underground world, although they are well known and respected in his home country.
What can you expect from work?
A mixture of Viking/Pagan Metal focused with epic doses of well-constructed melodies of Traditional Metal, but more focused on traditional instruments of Metal (guitar, bass, drums, keyboard inroads in certain songs, and the presence of acoustic moments here and there), good vocals, riffs and melodic guitar solos and well adjusted, bass and drums that exude power and weight, using a technique sober. And all this in a very cohesive and strong, able to move the most loyal fans of the style.
The sound production, made in Loom Studio (Studio D) by Deniz Durdag, and mastering done in Audio Mastering Service in Germany by Chris Bauer is in a very good level, without letting anything get too hidden in the hearings of the CD, and contributes maintaining working with weight and energy, essential for a good disc. The graphical output is cool and exudes the essence of the band.
Musically, as stated above, the band focuses more melodious work (without falling into more melodic strands), but that just stands out for having an approach nice and heavy, and with a good dose of energy, as can be seen in the strong 'Conquer', which starts as a military march, then have to focus on feeling and a climate Folk/Epic very good, especially the beautiful use of keyboards, the great 'War of the World', with a very catchy way, slightly hoarse vocals and great guitars, introduced by acoustic guitars, comes' Living in My Gods' to gain weight at a more moderate pace, which highlights the work of the very basic bass-drums, the beautiful and melodious' Shaman', a beautiful crafted and 'Song of the Wood', focused in a climate that fluctuates between weight and feeling enriched by taken more acoustic and clean, and the great medieval and' Shadows', with vocals and guitars very good very strong.
A band that deserves respect and listened to with much care and attention, and another good name that comes up in Turkey.
